‘Standing Proud before Alnwick Castle’ shows the Percy Lion guarding and overseeing all that pass in sight of the magestic castle of Alnwick. Painted on site in the Winter the light was particularly dramatic and stunning. A local asked me why I included the scaffolding on the castle to which I replied ‘It’s part of the scene as I see it now’.
