The Golden Hour at King Edward’s Bay
Oil on Board
Image size: 6″ x 8″
Framed size: 8″ x 10″
The piece was painted ‘en plein air’ on a beautiful warm Summer’s evening as the Sun was setting over Tynemouth headland. The brushstrokes were applied rapidly to capture the light effects on the 7th century Castle as well as the shadows in the rocky formations of the cliff. The Collingwood monument was just visible over the fortifications, providing an area of interest.
Framed in a traditional frame with distressed effect to compliment the subject, along with inner white slip frame.
