I worked on this view point of The Tyne Bar over multiple painting sessions to catch the bright conditions and light effect.  I positioned myself in the gap between the railings and the bridge near Maling Street so as not to obstruct the pavement.  This also gave the best view, with the Glasshouse Bridge providing a great lead in and angle toward the pub.  In all my latest pub works I’ve been interested in capturing a view of these popular Northern urban environments and something of their surroundings.
