I painted this piece on location near Watts Slope at Whitley Bay and the figures were briskly walking the footpath leading to the promenade. The sea was very powerful on the day, crashing right up to the foreshore.  I really enjoyed the sense of mystery provided by the slender lamp posts that equalled the number of figures.
